Traffic Monitor Center Manager
SR 400 Peach Partners is a Project, consisting of the design, construction, finance, operations, and maintenance of a 16-mile-long corridor in the metro Atlanta region. This project will include additional dynamically-tolled free-flow express lanes in each direction between McGinnis Ferry Road in Fulton County and McFarland Parkway in Forsyth County. The Project will also encompass the upgrade of several key bridges along the route, including those at Pitts Road, Roberts Drive, and Kimball Bridge. This is an over 50 year construction and maintenance project.
Position Title: TMC Manager
Time: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: $28.- $32. Per hour, depending on experience 58k-66,500k
Location: Alpharetta, GA (Windward and North Point Parkway)
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive TMC Manager to oversee our call center operations within our Transportation Management Center. This role is responsible for monitoring traffic conditions via camera systems, managing incoming calls, reporting roadway issues and incidents, and coordinating timely responses to ensure public safety and mobility. Operating from a centralized control center in Alpharetta, the TMC Manager will utilize advanced traffic management technologies to detect incidents, dispatch appropriate resources, and communicate real-time information to internal teams and external stakeholders. This position plays a key role in reducing congestion, enhancing roadway safety, and improving travel efficiency along the 16-mile SR 400 Express Lane construction corridor. In addition to operational duties, the TMC Manager will assist with scheduling, manage the TMC team, ensuring consistent coverage and high performance across all shifts.
Traffic Monitoring & Surveillance
- Monitor roadway conditions and detect incidents, congestion, or hazards in real time.
- Coordination with emergency services and field personnel to manage traffic incidents and minimize disruptions.
- Liaison / Dispatch appropriate response teams (e.g., law enforcement, tow services, maintenance crews, local and state transportation departments, and emergency responders).
- Update incident logs and maintain accurate records of events and actions taken.
- Respond to public inquiries and provide accurate, timely information.
MUST HAVE:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have no less than 5 years of experience in traffic operations, emergency dispatch, or transportation systems
- Management leadership experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Must be reliable, a team player, professional, a problem solver, with a good attitude
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment (shift work may be required)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems
- Familiarity with traffic management software
- This position will work M-F, 8-hour shift during the day
- You will need to pass a drug and background screening prior to start.
- The TMC Manager will attend training for 8 weeks
- Locations: 935 United Ave. SE, Atlanta
- You will master GDOT’s technology, learn processes, and connect with leaders in this Traffic Monitoring Center. You will be paid your hourly rate for training + $100 stipend per week (paid out in our bi-weekly payroll) + you will receive a $600 retention bonus after 3 months of employment.
